NORTHAMPTON JAZZ FESTIVAL
Behind Thorne's Market, Main Street, Northampton
The festival will present free live music from 11AM to 8 PM in the parking lot behind Thornes Market and in Thornes Basement. Participants will include promising young players from Pioneer Valley high schools and colleges combined with established local artists, as well as several prominent groups from New York City. Attendees will not only be able to hear great music from the various participating groups and ensembles, but will also be given the opportunity to sample food, beer, and wine from some of the areas finest restaurants as well. Also there will be a "12 Mile Meal Celebrity Chef Throwdown" where area chefs battle each other using local ingredients to produce gourmet selections guaranteed to astonish festival attendees. CONWAY 50TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF THE HILLS

The Conway Festival of the Hills is an annual fall festival Conway, Massachusetts held the first weekend in October, rain or shine. Saturday pre-festival events traditionally include a pancake breakfast, bake sale and community turkey dinner. Sunday features a 10K road race, arts and crafts exhibits, live music, activities for kids, a parade, log-splitting and skillet-tossing contests, and food and wares from local vendors. This week the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS (MAR) released their findings on the REALTOR Market Index (RMI), for August, as up by 40% while the REALTOR Price Index (RPI) is down slightly. While sharing REALTOR market confidence, MAR reported on short-sale activity. They give updates on the system allowing short-sale transactions and how the lack of activity hurts our recovery. TOWN OF DEERFIELD SNAP SHOT
The Town of Deerfield is an historic rural suburban center on the primary corridor between Northampton and Greenfield in the Connecticut River Valley along Interstate 91. It was the earliest community settled in Franklin County. Deerfield's history begins in 1664 with the Mohawk Indians; the town genealogy reads like a story book full of the first settler's accounts and can be found on their official website.
Deerfield is host to Deerfield Academy, the Eaglebrook School and the Bement School. The town is also the site of a major craft fair each year which brings in over 250 selected exhibitors and is considered to be one of the most important craft fairs in the northeast. The town's museum offers 19 exhibit rooms and many concerts throughout the season. Visitors are able to tour 13 of the historic residences in the town. They are also the host of the Yankee Candle Flagship Store.
